ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION
The Arkansas Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association serves all 75 counties across the state. With over 60,000 people living with Alzheimer's disease and their approximately 180,000 unpaid caregivers in Arkansas, we rely heavily on engaged volunteers to reach all parts of the state. While the chapter is involved in advancing critical research and public policy, our daily focus is on reaching into our communities and connecting people with information and resources as early as possible.
Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research.
Our support groups bring together caregivers to offer encouragement, comfort, and advice for one another. We offer support groups that are in-person and virtual.
River Valley Alzheimer's support Group meets the second Thursday of every month at 3501 Old Greenwood Road, Fort Smith from 4pm-5pm. For more information, call Louise Spaunhurst 479-353-1864.
